Alarmly ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Alarmly mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App. The App is available exclusively for iOS users and utilizes Apple's AlarmKit for reliable alarm functionality.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Automatically generated device-based account upon first use. No separate login or registration is required.
- Usage Data: Alarm settings, wake-up challenge interactions (math, quiz, text, shake, memory, reaction, photo), streak progress, and sleep sound preferences.
- Sleep Data (HealthKit): With your explicit permission, the App reads sleep analysis data from Apple Health, including sleep duration, sleep stages (deep, REM, core), bedtime, and wake time. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party.
- Device and Technical Information: Device ID, IP address, device type, OS version, app usage data, and crash reports for improving app stability.
- Analytics Data: We may use third-party analytics services to collect anonymized usage data for improving the App.
We do not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, or payment details unless required for premium features through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide core App features, including setting alarms via AlarmKit, playing relaxing sleep sounds, enforcing wake-up challenges, and tracking your wake-up streaks.
- To display your sleep reports, quality scores, and bedtime consistency insights within the Sleep tab. This data is used solely to provide the feature to you and is never used for advertising or marketing purposes.
- To personalize your experience with motivational messages and achievement tracking.
- For app maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance improvements.
- To communicate app updates or provide support if you contact us.
- For internal analytics to understand usage patterns and enhance user experience.
3. Apple HealthKit Data
Alarmly integrates with Apple HealthKit to provide sleep tracking features. The following rules govern how we handle HealthKit data:
- The App requests read-only access to sleep analysis data. We do not write any data to Apple Health.
- HealthKit data is processed on-device only. It is never uploaded to our servers, shared with third parties, or used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose beyond displaying your personal sleep reports within the App.
- HealthKit data is never combined with other user data for profiling and is never sold to any party under any circumstances.
- You can grant or revoke HealthKit access at any time by going to iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Alarmly. Revoking access will disable the Sleep tab but will not affect any other App features.
- This data handling complies with Apple's HealthKit guidelines and applicable health data regulations.
4. Sharing Your Information
- With third-party service providers: Limited to analytics, cloud storage for sounds, and subscription management (RevenueCat) under strict confidentiality agreements.
- With Apple: For AlarmKit integration and In-App Purchase processing, as required by iOS.
- For legal reasons: If required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. HealthKit data is never shared with any third party. All data sharing is limited to what is strictly necessary for App functionality.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption and access controls, to protect your data. Alarm data, preferences, and sleep data are stored locally on your device. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- You can revoke alarm permissions at any time through your device settings, which may limit App features.
- You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Alarmly. This will disable sleep tracking features but will not affect alarms, challenges, or streaks.
- Access, correct, or delete your data by contacting us or uninstalling the App (which removes all locally stored data).
- Manage your subscription through the App Store settings.
- For users in jurisdictions with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have additional rights such as data portability or objection to processing — contact us to exercise them.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or other means. Continued use of the App after changes indicates your acceptance.
